Northwest Bible Baptist Church, pastored by Phil Cavanaugh, is an independent, fundamental Baptist church that stands without apology on the Word of God. Our heartbeat is the Great Commission—reaching souls with the Gospel, baptizing them, and teaching them to follow Christ. We believe in old-fashioned preaching, separated Christian living, and soulwinning as the lifeblood of a New Testament church.
The Lord has allowed our church family to be involved in a variety of ministries, including Providence Baptist College, Northwest Baptist Academy, Kyte River Revival Campgrounds, the National Youth Conference, the National Old Paths Conference, Spanish and bus ministries, children’s and youth programs, choir groups, Bible studies and Sunday school, nursing home and soulwinning clubs, addiction recovery, and a strong emphasis on world missions. Each of these exists to fulfill the same purpose: proclaiming the Gospel and equipping believers to live for Christ.
From our 16-acre campus in the countryside of Elgin, Illinois, we serve the Chicago area and beyond with the same old-fashioned preaching, separated living, and zeal for souls that have defined us since the beginning. Through preaching and discipleship, evangelism and missions, and the ministries and tools God has entrusted to us to reach souls and train believers, Northwest Bible Baptist Church is committed to advancing the cause of Christ in this generation and the next.
