Dr. Gomez recieved a beautiful note from Mrs. Rita Landem entitled "Memories of Mrs. Gomez." Rita has been a faithful church member and has served in many ministries and in many capacities at Northwest Bible Baptist Church for over 25 years. Preacher wanted everyone to have the opportunity to enjoy what she wrote.
Memories of Mrs. Gomez… she cared for others!
She taught me to be happy… in the Lord.
She taught me to stay in church no matter what.
She taught me to love the Lord no matter what.
She was a soul-winner of soul-winners.
She was kind and compassionate.
She taught me to be unselfish.

She taught me to pray.
She taught me to be faithful.
She taught me to love my ministry.
She taught me to enjoy life.
She taught me to be modest.
She taught me to love my husband.
She taught me to take time for myself.
She taught me to put my husband 1

She taught me it was okay to take time for lunch.
She taught me to enjoy my family.
She was a natural care giver.
She was a talented and gifted interior decorator.
She was a faithful church member.
She loved all of our babies.
She was a prayer warrior.
She took time to rest.
She took good care of herself.
She taught me to take care of myself.
She taught me to be neat and tidy.
She was coordinated.
She took good care of our Preacher.
She was an excellent mother.
She was an extra special grandmother.
She was a loving daughter.
She was a dedicated Christian.
She was always appropriate.
She complimented our Preacher.
She was real.
She was an excellent cook.
She was a wonderful homemaker and housekeeper.
She taught me contentment in the Lord.
She taught me to trust in the Lord.
She cared about our Preacher.
She cared about her children.
She cared about her grandchildren.
She cared about our husbands, children, and grandchildren.
She cared about her mother and her family.
She cared about Preacher’s family.
She cared about other Preacher’s families.
She cared about our families.
She cared about her home.
She cared about her church.
She cared about the babies and the children.
She was an encourager.
She was always polite.
She was always thoughtful.
She was always a friend.
She was trustworthy.
She was gracious.
She was giving.
She was loving.
She was a Godly, God Honoring, lady.
She was an excellent Pastor’s wife.
She was the frosting on the cake.
She was the cherry on the top of the sundae.
She was the gift wrapping on the package.
I have watched her over the years die to herself, and unselfishly,
lovingly, and happily care for our Preacher, her family, and our church. She was our Pastor’s wife and we will all miss
her because she left us with an impression on our hearts for the good and glory
of God.
Thank you Mrs. Gomez for all the
many years of love and dedication to our Preacher and our church you so
lovingly supplied. We are grateful for
your dedication to your family. We are
grateful for your loyalty and faithfulness to your family, friends, and your
church family. We are more mindful of
our salvation today and grateful to have had you for our Pastor’s wife all
these years. We never thought that it
would be your appointed time, but we have had double blessings for having known
you and having seen you give of yourself to our Preacher, your family, and to
the ministry. Preacher and Mrs. Gomez…
true love in perfect harmony with a perfect God.
